Ohio State is in the process of revising websites and program materials to accurately reflect compliance with the law. While this work occurs, language referencing protected class status or other activities prohibited by Ohio Senate Bill 1 may still appear in some places. However, all programs and activities are being administered in compliance with federal and state law.

Hal Noltimier, with undergraduate majors and graduate students, studies several types of geophysical problems: basement structure and topography using gravity and geomagnetic survey data, heat flow of Late Tertiary and Quaternary igneous complexes, and paleogeographic reconstruction using paleomagnetism with geochronology and distinctive mineralization as guides and controls. Support has been provided nationally and internationally by several energy companies, Fulbright-Hayes, and the Swedish Natural Sciences Research Council. Current studies involve students and the Shell Undergraduate University Research Experience (SURE).
