Friends of Orton Hall (FOH)

Description

The Friends of Orton Hall Fund awards funds to Earth Science undergraduate and graduate students in support of degree research work. The Chairperson, on the recommendation of a faculty committee, authorizes distributions from this holding account to graduate and undergraduate students for assistance with thesis and dissertation expenses, travel expenses for fieldwork and meetings, and other various expenses.

Requirements

Friends of Orton Hall funding is available to all undergraduate and graduate students in the School of Earth Sciences. To apply for Friends of Orton Hall funding, all three sections of the application (linked below) must be completed and submitted by the semester submission deadline. Two sections must be completed by the student applicant, and the third section must be completed by the student's advisor.

Submission Window

The application windows are as follows:

  • Fall semester: on or around September 1
  • Spring semester: on or around January 15
  • Summer semester: on or around May 1
