On 19 February The Columbus Foundation announced in an article in the Columbus Dispatch their "national champions". One of the 13 individuals honored was Dr Lonnie Thompson from SES (seated, bottom right). The article stated that "the Columbus Foundation celebrates the outstanding work of our business and nonprofit leaders and innovators-and the acclaim their accomplishments bring to our city. Together, we are building Columbus' reputation as a place distinguished both by its knowledge resources and its openness to new ideas". Congratulations to Lonnie for yet another acknowledgement of his outstanding scientific contributions.
