SES Goes to GSA in Anaheim

In September, SES made its usual strong showing at the Fall Geological Society of America Meeting in California. We gave over 23 presentations as talks and posters. Topics covered the full spectrum of research in earth sciences, ranging from the analysis of particulate matter trapped in a glacier (graduate student Lucas Carter) to the damage zone structure of the San Andreas Fault (Professor Ashley Griffith). The full list of presenters and their contributions can be found here. Ms. Angie Rogers and Dr. Casey Saup also hosted a booth for SES in the Exhibition Hall where SES members gathered to catch up with alumni and friends and recruit new prospective students. We thank Ms. Rogers and Dr. Saup for their dedication to spreading SES pride and joy by organizing the booth each year.

Ms. Angie Rogers catches up with SES alumnus Dr. Josh Martin, now a Science Policy Fellow in Washington D.C.
Current SES undergraduate student Melody Green presents her senior thesis research, advised by Professor Lyons and in collaboration with SES postdoctoral scientist Dr. Devin Smith.
