Joachim Moortgat, an associate professor in the School of Earth Sciences, provided background on hydrogen extraction for a feature in New Scientist. “The gold hydrogen rush: Does Earth contain near-limitless clean fuel?” outlines the search for natural hydrogen reserves in Oman and across the globe, in an effort to provide clean fuels that do not produce carbon dioxide.
