Michael Braunagel Receives 2020 ASC Graduate Student Award for Teaching Excellence

Congratulations to School of Earth Sciences Ph.D. candidate Michael Braunagel for receiving the College of Arts and Sciences Graduate Student Award for Teaching Excellence. This year, College of Arts and Sciences received over 60 nominations for our graduate student awards in a highly competitive review process. This award was created to recognize excellence in teaching by a graduate student in any instructional capacity, including instructor of record, recitation, or lab.. Nominees must have served as a GTA for at least two semesters within the last two years. More information about the award can be found here.

Mike is known amongst students and fellow TAs as going above and beyond to help his students succeed. His students have remarked on his supportiveness, sense of humor, and approachability. In addition to his excellent teaching skills Mike is a beloved field camp chauffeur known to always keep his hands at the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration’s recommended 9 and 3 position on the SES van steering wheel. Congrats Mike!
