Lieftinck’s gift will support all students in the coming Field Camp

News notes written by Samara Preisler, Senior Director of Development

In 2017 Nancy Lieftinck established a Field Camp fund in memory of her husband, John. Since its creation, her fund, along with other Field Camp funds, has helped numerous students experience this life-changing opportunity, connecting with the natural world and discovering the joy of learning in the great outdoors.

While Nancy recently passed away, while she was still with us she wanted to ensure that her legacy and John’s will continue long into the future.  She chose to include a gift to Field Camp as part of her estate. Believing in the transformative potential of immersive outdoor experiences for young minds, her generous gift from her will is a testament to her commitment to fostering a love for learning. Because of Nancy, we’ll continue to ensure that talented groups of young geologists are able to attend Field Camp.  They’ll bring fresh perspectives and a shared passion for discovery.

As we look to the future, we remain committed to providing transformative Field Camp experiences for generations to come.  Here’s to many more adventures ahead!
