Congratulations to Earth Sciences postdoc Tingting Liu (Cole group; Ph.D. OSU, 2017), whose recent publication was identified as a Hot Article of 2018 in Physical Chemistry Chemical Physics. The study was also profiled by the A. P. Sloan Foundation Deep Carbon Observatory. Dr. Liu and collaborators from OSU and Oak Ridge National Lab used neutron scattering spectroscopy and molecular dynamics simulations to probe water on the surface of olivine, a key step in understanding the conversion of olivine to serpentine at high pressures and temperatures.
