Graduate student Lindsey Hernandez, and undergraduate Elijah Mullins have been in Guatemala conducting fieldwork on Fuego and Pacaya Volcanoes. They joined a team from Bristol University to study new lava flows from Pacaya, also they were able to climb the Acatenango Volcano to collect volcanic bombs from the near by Fuego Volcano. Their fieldwork will support both students research with Dr. Michael Barton. In addition Elijah's trip was funded by the generous donations of our alumni through the Friends of Orton Hall fund.
