The imposing skeleton of the great Jurassic theropod dinosaur Cryolophosaurus from Antarctica was installed in the atrium of Orton Hall five years ago, and we're celebrating this milestone! Come join us at the Orton Geological Museum on Monday, September 18, 2023, 12:00 noon-5:30 pm for a little anniversary celebration!
This is an inclusive, family-friendly event with dinosaur cookies for all. The Museum will stay open after school recess to accommodate families with kids.
We will have genuine dinosaur fossils for people to see and touch. Also on display will be some other types of remarkable fossils found in Antarctica!
Come join us for a few fun-filled, educational hours!
This year, Orton Hall turns 130! Orton Hall is home to Ohio's first museum, the Orton Geological Museum.
Next year, 2024, will mark the 150th anniversary of the Orton Geological Museum. The Museum was originally located in University Hall (1874) but moved to its permanent home in Orton Hall upon completion of this spectacular – and now historic – building in 1893.
