Through the generosity of alumni and friends, the School of Earth Sciences is thrilled to be able to offer scholarships to all students who attend Field Camp. These students are afforded an incredible, life-changing experience. Yet, there’s still a gap in what we provide to our students. The summer they attend Field Camp, it is challenging to obtain a job or accept internship opportunities due to the six-week time commitment demanded by Field Camp. We have a goal of offering every Field Camp student an opportunity to conduct paid summer research in the remaining months of the summer to offset the lack of income many of them rely on for their school and their living expenses.
By supporting the SURE (Summer Undergraduate Research Experience) Fund, you can provide our majors, including those who attend Field Camp, with an opportunity for a meaningful research project while also allowing them to earn a stipend. This, in turn, enables students to focus on what matters most—their education and contributions to their fields.
