Dr. Sheets teaches undergraduate courses in introductory geology, environmental geology, gemology, and mineralogy, and a graduate course in advanced mineralogy. She is interested in microanalytical techniques applied to mineral microtextures in order to interpret their formation histories. Outreach activities include leading a gems and minerals workshop for Women in Science Day at the Ohio State university, coaching Science Olympiad sections Dynamic Planet and Rocks and Minerals, and staffing a gem identification booth at the Central Ohio Rock, Mineral, and Fossil show.
