"Get as much field experience as you can and do NOT procrastinate with getting professional licensure."

Where has your degree taken you?

Staff hydrogeologist for multinational private firm, CH2M Hill, in Redding, CA. Then Associate Hydrogeologist at small private firm, Lawrence & Associates, in Redding, CA. While at L&A, I became a licensed Professional Geologist in CA, was home raising kids for a few years, and now I am an Engineering Geologist at the State of CA (Regional Water Board).

How do you feel your experience, specifically as an SES/geology student at OSU, prepared you for your career or life in general?

Coursework, fieldwork and research work were applicable, although OSU geology classes offered little coverage of western US geology, for obvious reasons. :-)

What is your favorite memory as a student?

Getting drenched on a structural geology field trip, so wet that everyone was crawling in to a very smelly van. Very memorable.

What advice do you have for current and future students?

Get as much field experience as you can and do NOT procrastinate with getting professional licensure.
