BuckAI Observatory Featured in AGU TV Thought Leadership Series
The School of Earth Sciences' BuckAI Observatory, directed by Dr. Joachim Moortgat, was recently spotlighted in the AGUTV Thought Leadership Series at the 2025 AGU Fall Meeting (December 15–19, Washington, D.C.).
In November, a film crew from WebEdge Studios (UK) traveled to Columbus for a full day of production, conducting interviews with faculty and students from Earth Sciences, Geography, and Computer Science and Engineering. The finished film was screened continuously throughout the AGU conference venue and at participating conference hotels during the meeting week.
The feature highlights a collaborative research project involving Dr. Alex Michaud (Earth Sciences) and Dr. Desheng Liu's research group in Geography. PhD student H Rainak Khan Real (Geography) is prominently featured, as is Dr. Steven Quiring, who speaks to the growing role of AI in storm modeling and atmospheric prediction.
The film is now available to watch anytime on the AGU TV YouTube channel: Watch here!
