LeeAnn Munk earned her PhD in Geology from SES in 2001, Ph.D and now works as a professor at the University of Alaska Anchorage.

Where has your degree taken you?
have been a professor of geological sciences at UAA since 2001. My current research is focused on determining the origin of lithium brines. I teach geochemistry, field methods, environmental geochemistry, geology of Death Valley, and earth resources and society.
How do you feel that your experience, specifically as an SES/geology student at OSU, prepared you for your career or life in general?
My experiences at SES OSU 100% prepared me for the career I have now. I received an excellent education and research experience at OSU.
What is your favorite memory as a student?
Meetings and coffee with Gunter Faure and meeting my future husband Jens Munk.
