Description: This course will provide students with the fundamentals to understand seismic theory, wave propagation, earth structure, earthquake source physics, and seismic data analysis. This is meant to be a comprehensive introduction to seismology, providing students with the requisite skills to begin research in seismology. A working knowledge of Python (preferred) or Matlab is necessary. Recommended: Math 2168 or experience with linear algebra.

 Prerequisites: Math 2153, Grad standing, or permission of instructor.
