General introduction to gemstones, including the origin of gems, identification techniques, and the history of important gems. Precious metals are also discussed. 

Autumn 2021 and after: Add EarthSc 1200 for Physical Science GE lab credit. 

Autumn 2022 and after: Add EarthSc 1200 to fulfill the GE Foundations: Natural Science requirement.
