Description:
This course provides students with scientific background on earthquakes, volcanic eruptions, tsunami, extraterrestrial impacts and climate change. In this course students will analyze disasters portrayed in popular movies, gain an appreciation of natural disasters beyond movies, understand why natural disasters happen, and explore our ability or inability to control and predict such events. This course does not contribute to the Film Studies major or minor.
 

Prerequisites: Not open to students with credit for 1151.
