Ohio State is in the process of revising websites and program materials to accurately reflect compliance with the law. While this work occurs, language referencing protected class status or other activities prohibited by Ohio Senate Bill 1 may still appear in some places. However, all programs and activities are being administered in compliance with federal and state law.

Carmi Milagros-Thompson awarded FIELD fellowship

Congratulations to graduate student Carmi Milagros-Thompson (advised by Jill Leonard-Pingel), recipient of the FIELD Fellowship! Carmi's research focuses on the intersection of invertebrate paleontology, museum collections, and geoscience education.

The FIELD Fellows program is focused on graduate students. It is a multi-institution program designed as a set of cohort-based activities, professional opportunities, and virtual interventions during one academic year to build a support network. This network will serve two functions: (1) The Fellows program will build a supportive cohort of diverse graduate students from different research institutions and disciplines within the Earth sciences. (2) The program will use a research-to-practice approach, a series of virtual interventions, seminars, and working groups for Fellows to gain the qualitative and quantitative skills needed to explore diversity issues through personal and shared experiences.
